OUR FIRST SHIPMENT OF INJECTABLE FLU VACCINE ARRIVED TODAY! WE HAVE INJECTABLE VACCINES AVAILABLE FOR BABIES AGES 6-35 MONTHS AND CHILDREN 3 YEARS AND UP. ALTOS PEDIATRICS ONLY ADMINISTERS THIMEROSAL-FREE VACCINES. WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY INSTRANASAL FLUMIST YET, ONLY THE INJECTABLE VACCINE. WE WILL POST AN ANNOUNCEMENT ON OUR WEBSITE AS SOON AS ANY FLUMIST ARRIVES.
GREAT NEWS! As of April 1st, we are participating providers in the Blue Shield Individual and Family Plan Exclusive PPO Network in accordance with the Affordable Care Act. Whether you purchased your PPO plan through Blue Shield directly or through the Covered California Insurance Exchange, you can continue to see us as "in-network" providers. We also participate in the HealthNet PPO plans offered through Covered California. We do NOT participate in any of the Covered California Health Insurance Exchange plans offered through Blue Cross. We are "out of network" with Blue Cross.
WE ARE OFFICIALLY OUT OF BOTH THE FLUMIST AND INJECTABLE FLU VACCINE FOR CHILDREN AGES 3 YEARS AND UP. We DO have injectable flu vaccine for children ages 6-35 months.
THE SATURDAY WALK-IN FLU CLINIC SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 19TH HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO A SHORTAGE AND DELAYED SHIPMENT OF THE INJECTABLE FLU VACCINE FOR CHILDREN AGES 3 YRS AND UP! The next Saturday walk-in flu clinic has been rescheduled for November 2nd from 9:00 am - 12 noon. We still have FluMist available for children ages 4 years and up, and injectable vaccine for children 6-35 months of age.
We have both Quadrivalent FluMist and injectable flu vaccine.
Now scheduling weekday appointments for high risk and healthy children.
Infants and children six months and older may get the injectable vaccine and healthy children, who do not have asthma or wheezing, ages 4 years and up are eligible for the FluMist.
The improved vaccine for the 2013-14 season provides protection against four influenza strains instead of three. Because there is a new procedural code for billing, the insurance companies may deny payment, especially early in the season.
You will be responsible for the payment if the claim is denied. The cost of FluMist is $35 and the injectable vaccine is $30.
